CGB is Hiring!

Crunchy Granola Baby is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team!

As a growing retail outlet, we’re looking for outgoing candidates with a passion for natural living. We are well-known for our superior customer service, so applicants should enjoy working with people, especially children. Applicants should also be self-motivated and driven individuals with a desire to excel.

Applicants should also have a passion for merchandising our ever-growing collection of products, be computer-literate, and be willing to help with our behind-the-scenes work, such as event organization, web maintenance, social networking, etc.

Part times sales consist of providing customer service, and applicants should also have the flexibility and availability to work day, evening and weekend shifts.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Love talking with people? You should relish in assisting customers because, trust us, we have some of the best customers.
  • Prefer a clean house? We need somebody who doesn’t mind a little cleaning and light lifting.
  • Interested in learning more about natural living and parenting? You should be willing to educate yourself about our products and their benefits.
  • Are you community-oriented? We need an individual who wouldn’t mind helping out at workshops and events.

If all this sounds like you, please send resume and / or letter of interest to crunchygranolababy@verizon.net. No phone calls please.

Crunchy Granola Baby is lucky enough to carry a very unique, artistic, and totally eco-friendly line of baby or toddler hair clips from linaloos. They are handmade with recycled vintage sweaters... seriously, how cool is that?

The founder of the business is a local Mom from Melrose who started out just making the accessories for her daughter, Caroline. And... by popular demand, a business was born!

Best of all, you can feel even better about buying one of these one-of-a-kind cuties because 10% of the proceeds goes to charity.

Stop by and take a look... Halloween is just around the corner, and we have some great seasonal clips!

Why Talc Free?

Talc is an unnecessary material that can easily be eliminated from your everyday life. Read below to learn why you should buy talc-free products. (Information from PreventCancer.com)

What is talc? Talc is a mineral, produced by the mining of talc rocks and then processed by crushing, drying and milling. Because talc is resistant to moisture, the products that contain talc, and thus pose the most serious health risks are body powders, like baby powder.

Why is talc harmful? Talc is closely related to the potent carcinogen asbestos. Talc particles have been shown to cause tumors in the ovaries and lungs of cancer victims. For the last 30 years, scientists have closely scrutinized talc particles and found dangerous similarities to asbestos. Responding to this evidence in 1973, the FDA drafted a resolution that would limit the amount of asbestos-like fibers in cosmetic grade talc. However, no ruling has ever been made and today, cosmetic grade talc remains non-regulated.

What kind of exposure is dangerous? Talc is toxic. Talc particles cause tumors in human ovaries and lungs. Talc particles are able to move through the reproductive system and become imbedded in the lining of the ovary. Additionally, talc miners have shown abnormally high rates of lung cancer. The common household hazard posed by talc is inhalation of baby powder by infants. Since the early 1980s, records show that several thousand infants each year have died or become seriously ill following accidental inhalation of baby powder.
