We had an amazing time with Bugworks this morning! A big thanks to Maire Anne for bringing a diverse selection of bugs ... and then teaching us all about them!

Halloween Weekend! In Salem!

Celebrate Halloween weekend in Salem with CGB! We've got Bugworks on Saturday and our Annual Halloween Party on Sunday!



Bugworks is an educational company that specializes in exciting science enrichment programs featuring live insects and other arthropods. This half-hour program, designed for children between the ages of 3 and 5, features fun, safe bugs that reinforce concepts such as size, shape and color. Join CGB for our Annual Halloween Party from 1 to 3PM on Sunday and enjoy yummy organic treats, great games, and tons of fun! All babes and toddlers in costume will be entered into our raffle!

The Lyceum Halloween Costume Brunch for Kids

Celebrate Halloween upstairs at the Lyceum on Sunday, October 31 from 11AM to 2PM. This event also features entertainment by the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and Alice, goodie bags for all kids (no candy) and prizes for best costumes. Plus:

- Wicked Good Buffet Brunch 11:00am to12:30pm

- Games, Prizes and Surprises: 11:00pm to 1:30pm

• - Costume Awards Ceremony 1:00pm to1:30pm

Sibling Preparation for the Birth of their Sibling

On Saturday, October 23 CGB will be hosting a sibling preparation class with Nechama Wildanah, CPM, midwife, and women's health educator. This one day workshop for parents and their children is designed to familiarize kids with the sights and sounds of natural birth, so that they feel confident and prepared when the big day comes.


Through interactive activities, games, role plays and art, children will be introduced to the process of birth. Parents will get the information and resources they need to prepare their kids to be present at birth, and will receive lots of tips from a midwife experienced in child-attended births. Kids will make labor noises, gain an understanding of how babies are born, and learn about what laboring moms are like as they concentrate on giving birth. Kids will leave knowing what to expect when their mom is in labor, what it will be like when their new brother or sister is born and how they can be involved and help. They will also make a special present for the new baby, and learn why big brothers and sisters are so important!
