Crunchy Granola Baby is introducing a new type of class: sewing, knitting & homemaking techniques for the modern woman in a green age. Next up?

Knitting!

The class will teach basic knitting instruction from casting on to casting off. Experience the creative joy of making your own fabric from yarn. For all classes please bring yarn and needles. If you need help choosing, please feel free to call Jennifer at 978.744.1596 before the first class for advice.

The class is $35 for four weeks, no drop-ins with a max of 8 students.

Classes run from February 17 through March 10, from 7 to 9 pm. Weekly instructions are as follows:

February 17 (Week One)
Basic knitting techniques. This class will simply be an introduction to and practice session for beginning knitting including casting on using the “knit” stitch. By the end of class you will have the beginnings of a scarf.

February 24 (Week Two)
During this class we will learn to “purl”. Now, with both “knit” and “purl” under your belt there is no limit to the patterns and textures that you can create. You will continue with you scarf from the previous class or start a new one using your new stitches.

March 3 (Week Three)
Knit an elegant handbag. This week I will give instructions and help you get started creating a beautiful little handbag. New techniques will include “double Knitting” and making an “I”-Cord.

March 10 (Week Four)
Baby Booties Learn how to knit the cutest and quick knitting little baby booties using the “double knitting” technique you learned last week.
