Angie Needs a New Home!

CGB's owner Jennie Cudmore needs your help! Her absolutely adorable dog Angie needs a new home!

Why? Her three-year old son has tested positive for dog and cat allergies, and they are trying desperately to relieve him of his eczema. It's a very difficult time for the Cudmores and they are hoping that finding Angie a new home will be the solution.

More About Angie:

Angie is a lap dog and loves attention. She is a nine-year old healthy spayed female, who is up to date on her vaccinations. She also recently had dental work.

Angie has one eye and, unfortunately, has lost sight in that eye over the past year. She has a hard time walking on a leash since losing her vision, but we recently purchased a new harness that will hopefully prove successful. And although she has also lost quite a bit of confidence since losing her sight, and all of her animal companions, she is an absolute doll.

Therefore Angie will do best with another friendly dog, or any other pet, in the house. She is very tolerant and gets along with everyone/thing, including her past friends: bunnies, ferrets, and Guinea pigs.

Angie is house-trained, but has no problem finding a spot inside to eliminate if not let out frequently.

Angie's new owner will need to give her lots of TLC and be extremely patient, willing to teach Angie to navigate her new surroundings. We would prefer that her new home be willing to share photos and keep us updated. If, by chance, her new home doesn't work out and Angie isn't adjusting, we would always take her back.

If you are interested in learning more about Angie, please email crunchygranolababy@verizon.net or call 978.741.0800.

What We're Reading: "Raising Your Spirited Child"

Check out what we're currently reading!

"Recently, temperament traits have come to the forefront of child development theory. In Raising Your Spirited Child, Mary Sheedy Kurcinka's first contribution is to redefine the "difficult child" as the "spirited" child, a child that is, as she says, MORE. Many people are leery about books that are too quick to "type" kids, but Kurcinka, a parent of a spirited child herself and a parent educator for 20 years, doesn't fall into that trap. Instead, she provides tools to understanding your own temperament as well as your child's. When you understand your temperamental matches--and your mismatches--you can better understand, work, live, socialize, and enjoy spirit in your child. By reframing challenging temperamental qualities in a positive way, and by giving readers specific tools to work with these qualities, Kurcinka has provided a book that will help all parents, especially the parents of spirited children, understand and better parent their children." - Amazon.com

Community Interview: Kristy Mount

April's Community Interview is with Kristy Mount, local mom and creator of Potty Mouth Designs!

Kristy has had a love for fashion and design since she was a child herself.

After years of designing and sewing her own clothes, her passion led her to study fashion at Parsons School of Design in Paris and graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

And while producing her own line of clothing has always been a dream of Kristy’s, it wasn’t until she became a stay-at-home mom that her dream was realized. After having her first baby, Nathaniel, Kristy became dissatisfied with the traditional designs and colors that dominated the baby clothes market. By the time Kristy’s second child, Anabelle, was born she decided to do something about it and began making her own clothing and accessories for her little ones.

So began Potty Mouth Designs.

Where did you come up with the name "Potty Mouth Designs"?

A group of us gets together every week to craft/ socialize/ vent about parenthood and since the kids are asleep, the expletives just seem to roll off my tongue. My friend Kristen said that if I ever started to sell my stuff, that I should call it Potty Mouth Designs, so I did. It was just the perfect fit.

What is the most rewarding aspect of Potty Mouth Designs?

Knowing that I make a product that people find worthy enough to take home for their children or give to someone they care about means a lot to me. And while I wouldn't trade staying home with my kids for the world, sometimes its good to know that people other than my family appreciate something that I do.

Stop by Crunchy Granola Baby and check out all of Kristy's Potty Mouth Designs!
