Laure Dennery – Bio
I was born in New York City and moved to Paris, France when I was 12. As difficult as this change was, it was at this time that I started using art as a way to express what I could not with words. I found that the canvas afforded me a venue to express myself that was much easier than trying to navigate the different languages and cultures running through my head.
I often use animals as a source of imagery. For me, they embody the simplicity of life; a life devoid of the seemingly endless complexities of human society. Animals are always true to themselves and it is the beauty that comes from understanding their essence that I try to convey in my pieces. Through my work, I explore colors, forms and abstractions to create intimate scenes that reveal serene simplicity in a complex world.
I first started painting penguins after seeing the documentary “March of the Penguins.” As I began to experiment, I started falling in love with their simple shapes and colors and discovered the endless possibilities that these birds inspired in me. I took a break from painting them for a while, but then found that I always seemed to come back to them for they brought me comfort to paint (I mean, who can resist them, really?).
I now live in Cambridge, MA where I devote all of my time to my art. I hope that you enjoy my work!

SALEM — When Jenn Santo and her family moved to the Salem Common neighborhood four years ago, something immediately caught her eye: the playground. Of the 25-year-old wooden structures on the southeast corner of the nine-acre park, Santo said: "This is the central park for our city, and it's boring and unsafe." She is among a group of Salem Common neighbors, mainly parents, who have been on a crusade the last three years to build a new playground. They researched and helped design a structure they hope will replace the current equipment — and they raised more than $35,000 to do so. Tomorrow night, the city's Park and Recreation Commission will take up three designs for a new Salem Common playground, including the one supported by the parent group.

We just received this news from the director of Fox Hill School about Tommie's class mate well actually more than class mate she is his lunch mate too (they are both gluten free so they get to eat together)
I am writing to request your assistance in helping one of our Fox Hill families. A returning student to our classroom upstairs. On July 1st, she and her family suffered a terrible loss. Their home, and all its contents, was lost to a fire. Luckily they were away at the time and were unharmed, but they have literally lost everything. We would like to organize a clothing drive. They are in need of fall and winter clothes. If you have any clothes, shoes, coats, etc (see sizes listed below) that you can donate to this family, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance. It means a lot to us to know that our Fox Hill family can come together to help a family in their time of need.
Size 4-5T and 9 1/2-10 shoe.
Size 3T and 7 1/2 -8 shoe.
We are so lucky to have such a giving community. I know we will receive many donations.
You can drop the donations off at Crunchy Granola Baby.
And thank you all so much!

Attendees should expect to leave with a much broader knowledge of vaccines and tools to help prevent vaccine reactions.
- Space in limited, please RSVP.
- This workshop is free, but donations for Active Healing Inc. are encouraged.
