Push Ups for Charity

Pushups For Charity is a simple way for North Shore residents to “get fit, have fun and make a difference.” It’s not a competition with anyone else, but it’s a way to challenge yourself to be, do and have more.

And you don’t have to do thousands of pushups to make a difference.

All you do is as many push-ups as you can in 90 seconds - just one time at a special event in Beverly on Saturday, April 17th - and ask your friends, family and co-workers to donate fifty cents or one dollar for each push-up you do in those 90 seconds (the average donation certainly won’t break the bank for anyone...and every dollar helps).

It doesn’t matter if you can only do 10. Every push-up counts. Because every push-up raises money for wounded warriors who deserve our support. And all the money - every penny - goes to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Your toddler is always on the move! But did you know this favorite newfound skill is your toddlers most effective way to learn?

  • Although children eventually learn to sit still and listen, toddlers can't do it yet. Music and movement classes engage toddlers in purposeful movement activities as preparation for this all-important skill.
  • All children are singers! By keeping the child in a singing-rich environment, your child will retain his singing voice and gain control of it in an ever-expanding range. And singing songs, playing instruments, dancing, and rocking with you elevates these experiences so they live on in the child's mind forever.

Babywearing in the Globe

We know there has been a lot of buzz about babywearing recently. Well, today The Boston Globe ran a piece titled "Baby wearing's hip, but is it safe?"

The piece acknowledges the problems with carriers like the recalled Infantino, but also gives the other side of the story.

Author Lyla M. Alphonse provides a list of guidelines to help know if your baby is safe in his slings, online resources to help babywearing mamas and papas understand their carrier, and a note about local babywearing workshops...including CGB's Babywearing Demo, which takes place every third Saturday of the month. Read the full article here.

If you have questions about your carrier, please contact CGB at 978.741.0800 or info@crunchygranolababy.com.
